Bylaws of the Organizational Behavior Management Network

ARTICLE I: NAME
1. The name of the association is the Organizational Behavior Management Network. It is abbreviated OBM Network.

ARTICLE II: PURPOSE
1. The OBM Network, a Special Interest Group of the Association for Behavior Analysis, was founded in 1982, and exists in order to develop, enhance, and support the growth and vitality of Organizational Behavior Management through research, education, practice, and collaboration.

ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP
1. The OBM Network shall have three classes of membership: Sustaining, Full and Student.
2. A Sustaining member shall be an academic or practitioner, in an OBM related discipline, who wishes to support and sustain the success of the Network through the payment of sustaining membership fees.
3. A Full member shall be an academic or practitioner in an OBM related discipline.
4. A Student member shall be enrolled in an academic degree program relevant to a career in behavior analysis, organizational management or industrial/organizational psychology.
5. A person who is eligible for membership and wishes to become a member must submit a completed application form and pay annual membership fees.
6. The membership year begins on January 1 and continues through December 31of the same calendar year.
7. Membership fees received after October 31 will be applied to the following membership year, unless otherwise notified by the applicant.
8. There shall be a meeting of the Members at the annual ABA convention.
9. Each Member is entitled to one (1) vote on each matter submitted to a vote.

ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS
1. The Officers of the OBM Network shall be an elected Director and appointed personnel in the following areas: Membership, Treasury, Newsletter, Website, Marketing, Awards, and Administration.
2. All Officers shall be Members of the OBM Network.
3. Each position shall be elected or appointed to a two-year term of office.
4. The Director shall appoint all other Officers.
5. The Director, or his/her designee, shall preside at annual Business meetings during his/her term of office. The Director is also responsible for counting of nomination and election ballots, as well as any ballots in any referenda submitted to the membership and shall exercise general supervision over the affairs of the OBM Network.
6. Membership: The Membership Coordinator shall receive and provide confirmation of applications for membership to applicants. The Membership Coordinator shall maintain membership records and data, provide Haworth Press with members’ mailing addresses for the Journal of Organizational Behavior Management, provide timely responses to member requests for information, and submit an annual membership report to the Members at the annual Business meeting.
7. Treasury: The Treasurer shall have responsibility for all funds of the OBM Network and shall have the authority to disperse these funds for purposes authorized by the Director. The Treasurer shall keep a record of all money received and disbursements made, and submit an annual report of the financial status at the annual Business meeting.
8. Newsletter: The Editor shall be responsible for content, production and mailing of the OBM Network News.
9. Website: The Webmaster shall be responsible for content, layout and maintenance of the OBM Network website, http://www.obmnetwork.com.
10. Marketing: The Marketing Officer shall be responsible for developing and implementing plans and projects to enhance the reputation of the OBM Network and to retain and recruit members.
11. Awards

a. OBM Awards: The OBM Awards Committee Chair shall be responsible for coordinating the nomination and selection process for the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Outstanding Contribution Award. The Committee shall be comprised of eight OBM Network Members and include past award recipients (2), faculty (2), practitioners (2) and graduate students (2) selected by the Chair. The Chair shall also be responsible for notifying the recipients of the awards.
b. Chris Anderson Research Award: The Chris Anderson Research Award Committee Chair shall be responsible for coordinating the nomination and selection process in coordination with the Director.
c. OBM Network Student Presenter Grant: The Director shall be responsible for coordinating the nomination and selection process for the OBM Network Student Presenter Grant awards.

12. Administration: The Administrative Assistant shall maintain the records of the OBM Network, including, but not limited to, meeting minutes and agendas, official correspondence, etc.

ARTICLE V: NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS
1. Nominations for Director shall be taken from members before the end of a membership year (i.e. December 31) before the next scheduled election year. All nominations shall include the nominee’s name and affiliation. Each nominee must be a current member of the OBM Network.
2. All nominated Members shall be notified and asked if they will accept the nomination. Only those members who accept the nomination will be included on the election ballot.
3. If there is more than one member nominated for Director, an election ballot shall be included in the January issue of the OBM Network News, and mailed to all members. The election ballot shall include the nominees’ names and affiliations.
4. The Director shall be elected by a plurality of the votes cast. The results of the election shall be reported in the May issue of the OBM Network News and at the annual Business meeting. The Director’s two-year term of office shall begin at the close of the next annual Business meeting.
5. In the event that only one member is nominated for Director and he/she accepts the nomination, he/she will assume the position and continue as Director for another two-year term at the close of the next annual Business meeting.

ARTICLE VI: COMMITTEES, TASK FORCES AND ADVISORY GROUPS
1. The OBM Network shall create Committees, Task Forces, and Advisory Groups that are deemed necessary to accomplish the purposes of the organization.

ARTICLE VII: PUBLICATIONS
1. The OBM Network shall publish a newsletter, OBM Network News, having three issues per year.
2. The OBM Network News shall be distributed to Members as a benefit of membership at no additional cost to Members.
3. The Journal of Organizational Behavior Management, published by The Haworth Press, Inc., shall be distributed to Members, four issues per year, as a benefit of membership at no additional cost to Members.

ARTICLE VIII: AMENDMENTS
1. Amendments or changes to these bylaws may be proposed by a majority vote of the Members. The proposed amendments shall be submitted to the Members for approval. To be approved, an amendment requires the affirmative vote of two thirds of those Members voting.
2. Annual Review: The by-laws shall be reviewed by the OBM Network Officers at least annually. Any process or procedural discrepancies shall be noted and reviewed at the annual Business meeting with the Members present.
