OBM Network Strategic Goals Matrix

Mission: The OBM Network, founded in 1982, exists in order to develop, enhance, and support the growth and vitality of Organizational Behavior Management through: Research, Education, Practice, & Collaboration.


The components of the OBM Network’s current mission have been translated into a matrix. Overall goals for improvement should contribute to the overall goals of the OBM Network, and should be reflected in the mission statement.

Research
  • Increase the number and/or size of grants awarded by the OBM Network
  • Increase the involvement of professors and graduate students
  • Increase the number of conference presentations in OBM
Education
  • Increase the number of student members and their involvement
  • Disseminate information about graduate schools with an OBM focus
  • Increase the number of nominations received for OBM Network awards
  • Increase the involvement of undergraduate students
  • Provide a listing of graduate schools with a focus in OBM
Practice
  • Develop internship programs to expand the Network’s relationship with businesses
  • Develop (web/print) materials of interest to practitioners
  • Increase the number of nominations received for OBM Network awards
  • Increase the involvement of consultants and organization managers
  • Provide a place for employers to post job positions and for applicants to post resumes
  • Facilitate placement and transition of students into new positions
Collaboration
  • Build relationships with business and other organizations
  • Increase membership to 600+ members
  • Increase the number of student members and their involvement
  • Enhance and maintain relationships with other organizations
  • Increase marketing efforts to reflect a better image
  • Enhance SIG activities at ABA
