Why go into OBM?

MS Experimental Psychology with emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis Business consulting Student Staff Training (Outcome Management, Pyramidal Training), Staff Job Competency, Retention & Turnover, Human Service Setting, Motivation & Satisfaction. Generally, I have always been fascinated with the dynamics of the working environment and how individuals form the organization. I originally began my journey working with individuals who had disabilities or exhibited behavioral problems. Initially, when thinking of organizations and individuals, I/O always came to mind. However, I/O was a little too theoretical for my taste. Through extensive studies and practicum in the field of ABA, my passion grew for OBM in that I saw the need for behavioral applications in everyday business. As of right now, I am working on my thesis which deals with outcome management systems and job competency in the human service setting. Most importantly, my love for OBM stems from the fact that I am a behavioral psychologist. I understand the need to teach behavioral principles to management and organizations as a whole. In other words, business has romanticized how to deal with people and become too reliant on the next best thing. Research, assessments, practicum, classes, and studying |
